The art hike films, Full Circle and Art Within Nature, are mid-length art hike films about a magical, diverse and inspiring “art hike” experience that highlights the landscape of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. The film is intended to transport the viewer into the mountains and to experience visual beauty, serenity through movement, and deep story-telling. Trails & Vistas The Dreaming Tree Film, 2021
This virtual art in nature field trip film is an interactive experience for over 300 third grade students and long term care residents with dance, environmental studies, music, poetry, storytelling, and visual art. The Dreaming Tree Field Trip at Lake Tahoe is a stunning project dedicated to the arts and environmental stewardship with a walking tour to understand, explore, and communicate about the human experience on this earth. What started as an effort in 2011 to host an outdoor classroom has since grown into an experience of land, art, and community for the student participants. To accompany the film, art kits will be delivered to each class with art supplies for students to write nature poems, create visual art project, a storytelling gift, and an Earth Walk Guide & Journal.
Nancy Lopez is a featured artist of BELONGING film, a community arts initiative led by Nevada County Arts Council, Artist-in-Residence Ruth Chase, generously funded in part by California Arts Council through its Artists Activating Communities Program.
